I honestly have no idea how her name’s pronounced, but I do enjoy the song.

#songoftheday: Sloan – Last Time In Love
“Movin’ on was something I mastered.
Is it fair to say, I got so good at it that I went to town?
Then I met you…”
#songoftheday: Red Hot Chili Peppers – By The Way
Being the early adopter of a game console is pretty great, but has it’s drawbacks. Namely, there usually aren’t a lot of games to play on the thing.
For the first few months after getting my GameCube, I played a ton of Crazy Taxi. This Red Hot Chili Peppers video came out around the same time, and perfectly captured the tone of the game. Specifically, incredibly reckless cab driving to high-energy music.
#songoftheday: Jack White – Lazaretto
The fact that Jack White continues to release music on a regular basis takes a bit of the sting off the fact that the White Stripes are still on hiatus.
Here’s the lead single off his upcoming album, “Lazaretto”.
#songoftheday: Stone Temple Pilots – Sour Girl
Little known fact: this video’s the official non-canon prequel the the Buffy The Vampire Slayer musical episode.
#songoftheday: The Ataris – In This Diary
First up, I apologize for the sound quality, but this is the actual video from my high school graduation.
“Good Riddance” by Green Day was the quintessential graduation song of the time, but my class and I already had the time of our lives in grade 8. Thankfully, The Ataris stepped up to the plate, and delivered a song that seemed like it was written just for us.
#songoftheday: Foster the People – Coming of Age
If I were putting together a graduation video today, this new single from Foster the People would make the perfect soundtrack.
#songoftheday: Tears for Fears – Everybody Wants to Rule the World
In honour of 100 posts, here’s one of my all time favourite songs.
#songoftheday: Pearl Jam – Brother
Most of my favourite bands have a single song, or album that I think of as the definitive point where I became a lifelong fan. As far as Pearl Jam’s concerned, this is the one that “got me into” Pearl Jam.
I’d heard the odd song of theirs over the years, and always enjoyed what I’d come across, but this was the track that got me to listen through “Ten” for the first time. The release of “Backspacer” shortly after that sealed the deal.
#songoftheday: Cat Stevens – Father and Son
Sometimes you associate a song with a particularly emotional time or moment in your life, and anytime you hear it played, you’re right back in that moment. Happy or sad, those feelings can hit you pretty hard, and seem like they’re coming out nowhere.
This is one of the few songs that’s actually made me tear up on it’s own merits.
