Before this album came out, the only Tegan and Sara song I knew was “Walking With A Ghost”. A little over 6 months after picking this album up, I was watching them perform the majority of it live in Montreal.
Needless to say, it was one of the best impulse buys that I’ve ever made.
For some reason, the line in this song’s always sounded like “sweet muffins” to me.
While it doesn’t quite have the same impact outside of it’s position as the climax of “The Suburbs”, it’s still one of my favourite Arcade Fire tracks on it’s own.
Taken in the context of the album though, this song is something else.
There’s someone special out there for everybody.
Pleased to Meet Me has got to be one of the best impulse buys that I ever made at “the big HMV”.
While I still vastly prefer Radiohead’s first 3 albums to the rest of their catalogue, a few of their newer songs (ie: released in the last 12 years) are starting to grow on me.
Here’s to learning from past experiences.
