#songoftheday: Banks – Are You That Somebody? (Aalyiah Cover)
Hands down, the best acoustic guitar version of a 90s R&B song that I’ve ever heard.
#songoftheday: The Black Keys – Never Gonna Give You Up
This song’s a perfect example of how great the Black Keys are at making something new and original, by taking influence from past music, instead of plagiarizing it.
#songoftheday: Masashi Hamauzu – Wishes
For something a bit different than my usual posts, here’s a beautiful arrangement from Japanese composer, Masashi Hamauzu.
#songoftheday: Tyrone Wells – Use Somebody (Kings of Leon Cover)
A really well done acoustic cover never fails to increase my admiration for a song that I already enjoyed. The stripped back nature gives you that luxury of admiring the little things, and lets all the emotion behind the song shine through that much brighter.

#songoftheday: Ellie Goulding – You My Everything
I didn’t really take much notice of Ellie Goulding until I saw her perform live at Osheaga last summer. One of the many instances of acts with more electronic sounding records that really impressed me with live sets integrating traditional instruments.
For a taste of that live performance, here’s a track from the bonus disc of the deluxe version of her second album, Halcyon.
